On 28th November, The Hubb Movement hosted the panel event titled “MyData - Data Protection in 2020”, where speakers spoke about data protection policies of Malaysia in 2020. We are honoured to have hosted our three esteemed speakers Professor Abu Bakar Munir, Mr Naufal Fauzi, and Mr Louis Liaw, who have had a lot of information to deliver to our many attendees online.
Their expertise in this field provided us with insightful information with regards to the policies in COVID-19 tracing apps like MySejahtera in Malaysia, the application of these policies in our daily transactions, as well as the implications and possible actions of breach of data security. Later in the discussion, our speakers went beyond Malaysia and made comparisons with data protection regulations that exist in neighbouring countries, in Australia, and even in the United Kingdom. The event was perceptive, insightful, and left our attendees with questions and a deepened interest in data protection regulations, proving to be a successful event overall. We would like to thank our speakers for speaking at our event as well as our attendees for their attention and curiosity. The Hubb Movement looks forward to seeing you all at our next event.
